We ordered takeout from Mi La Cay last week because this is one of my mom's favorite places. It's a cozy restaurant with plenty of seating inside. I recall dining here for dinner a few years ago and being seated right away. There is plenty of parking available out front. We ordered the mì đặc biệt la cay (M01, house noodle soup), cơm chiên dương châu (R03, yang chow fried rice), and hủ tiếu xào thập cẩm (C02, seafood chow fun). The house noodle soup seems to be their most popular dish, and I can understand why. The broth is delightfully clear and not overly salted, and the egg noodles have a good bite to them. My chicken was a little bit dry though. I generally enjoy noodle dishes more than rice dishes, but I may have enjoyed the fried rice the most this time. Admittedly, that may be my bias towards lạp xưởng or Chinese sausage speaking. The rice was well seasoned. Finally, the chow fun was good, but I wish we got more seafood and that the noodles were separated a little bit more. Overall, I am happy to come back here to try other dishes, especially seeing how happy my mom is here. The broth is definitely something we both really enjoy from Mì La Cay.

Me and family have been going here for years since I was young child. The food here is solid. They are known for their egg noodles. I typically get the roasted duck or fried chicken egg noodle. Sometimes if I'm not feeling noodles I will get the fried chicken with red rice is also really good. The food comes out pretty quickly and service is decent. The staff seems to be alert and attentive. It's a family owned restaurant so you definitely feel the comfort here.

I was in need of some chicken soup because I was dealing with food poisoning. I couldn't eat anything due to nausea but needed to eat something I called and placed an order and it was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. I arrived and the order was packed and ready to go. The staff were friendly and prompt and I appreciated the comforting chicken noodle soup (M010). I got my husband the bbq duck with rice and he loved it. It is a small mom and pop type of Vietnamese restaurant across from an elementary school. It definitely helped me feel better!

Amazing mì vit quay (roasted duck noodle soup) at this shop. Growing up in OC, I've always loved this restaurant so it was a major plus to know there was a location in the Bay Area too. All of the noodle soups here share their same signature broth which is very flavorful and fulfilling, especially on a cold day. Their roasted duck that comes with the noodles is always on point with a crispy skin texture and tender duck meat. I really love the pickled peppers they make as an accompaniment to the noodle soup. The owner and staff are super sweet and welcoming.

I came here with my husband for lunch around 11ish on a Sunday. There were already 4 tables w/ customers and many tables that needed to be cleaned. We were asked to sit at a clean table by the waitress who happens to take on multiple roles. She was a one woman show (took orders, clean tables, and prepared drinks) with another lady who brought out the food. The man who appears to be the owner took 1 order the entire maybe 30 minutes while we were there. The waitress took orders from 2 other tables who seem to have been eating alread, cleaned a table to seat 2 customers then head over to us to take our order. We ordered Mi La Cay Dac Biet (egg noodle soup-special) and Mi Vit Quay (egg noodle soup w/ roasted duck) along with 1 Gio Chao Quay (Chinese fried Stick Donut). The food came out fast, however, I felt like it look so plain for the egg noodle soup w/ roasted duck as there was no vegetables. My husband had to ask for bean sprouts. My egg noodle soup-special had a few pieces of green leaf lettuce. The soup is light and flavorful. However, the roasted duck meat was quite dried. A little too roasted. It's not like the Roasted Duck you buy at the Chinese BBQ places where it's oily and moist. Service was average and the one woman show did a great job running the front. She was very soft spoken and apologetic when a customer who was waiting complained to her why there are dirty tables and that it should be cleaned so customers don't have to wait. She handled it pretty well by cleaning the table fast and providing quick service to that customer.

This place has not changed at all! Signage, furniture, food, it's been the same since the 90's! Comfort food in terms of noodles and soup. There's definitely better dry noodle soup options out there nowadays, but this place has survived through the decades for a reason. Solid and consistent.
